Justice for All Committee member Beatrice Zovich and Steering Committee Member Chenjerai Kumanyika testified to City Council in support of Resolution No. 210709 introduced by Councilmember Kendra Brooks, calling on Congress to strike the “Slavery Clause” from the 13th Amendment of the United States Constitution, which allows the forced labor of disproportionately Black and brown Americans to continue to this day. The resolution passed unanimously.
